Yes Downtown Denver Condo Residents... LoHi does it again with the new Denver Beer Co.

Downtown Denver Loft and Downtown Denver condo residents in the great LoHi neighborhood have yet one more reason to love where they live.

In a few weeks a new Brewery is opening it's doors for Downtown Denver home owners to enjoy!

We shared the details about the Ale House at Amatos (now open), Linger (now open), Occidental (coming soon) and now one more new establishment is going to add to the great list of amenities residents in this neighborhood enjoy... the Denver Beer Co.

Technically this location on Platte Street just down from Paris on the Platte and Colt and Grey could be mutually claimed by the great Riverfront Parkneighborhood and LoHi,  but our clients in both don't mind sharing.  Downtown Denver is becoming a hot spot for artisan and crafted ales and now there is one more great option to choose from.  Opening in two to three weeks (their website announces Summer 2011) the new Denver Beer Co. plans to treat it's Lohi and Riverfront neighbors to great ales and lagers.  Here is a summary from their Facebook page.

The idea behind Denver Beer Co is simple. Good beer is best enjoyed with friends, fresh air, and a bit of adventurous spirit to sharpen the palate. Our craft brewery specializes in artisan and seasonal varieties of premium ales and lagers made from the best ingredients around. Brewed with traditional methods and innovative spirit, our beer is always fresh and flavorful. Our beer is serious fun.

Of all the Downtown Denver neighborhoods perhaps none has grown faster in terms of restaurant, bistro, wine and pub options than the wonderful LoHi location.  Offering easy access into the heart of Downtown Denver via pedestrian /bike bridges or easy access to all our major highways LoHi is a dream location for Denver.

And in terms of real estate... the choices are endless.  From historic Denver square homes with their charm and elegance to new modern townhomes and mid rise condo projects we help our clients find the perfect Downtown Denver residence for their lifestyle.

It's a good thing this neighborhood is so bike friendly because with these many dining and entertainment options it helps to burn a few calories getting around town.  We should know, we located our New Era Realty office here in LoHi because we love it so much.

Call any of us at New Era Realty today and learn about LoHi, Riverfront Park or any of the great Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft options.

And we'll get back to you with the sampling of Denver Beer Co. or news of the next great addition to LoHi.

Downtown Denver Fun is Booming!

There isn't just one thing fun growing in Downtown Denver... there are many!

An interesting discussion took place this past holiday weekend about just how many things there are to do while living the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle.  From the Denver Art Walk to the Denver Cruiser rides our city is booming.

It's something you notice if you are watching.  Those who attend the Santa Fe or Tennyson Art Walks may have noticed that month after month, steadily, the number of attendees has grown.  The Denver Cruiser rides that once numbered a couple hundred starting at one local Denver pub has grown to what is estimated at more than 1000 starting at three different pubs.  New Restaurants are opening in LoHi, Ball Park, Wash Park and Downtown Denver.   Larger events are coming to Denver in Theater, the Arts, and Comedy.

Even the Book of Mormon picked Denver to be it's first Debut after its 9 award winning Tony run on New York City's Broadway.  Of course having the creators, the same team that created South Park, from our great state of Colorado did help.  But the fact remains that Denver's Performing Arts Complex is second only to NYC in size.

From a real estate perspective it is both exciting and amazing.  The Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft lifestyle is so popular and drawing in new residents in a great growth cycle.  Drawn by all these amazing events, restaurants, and more the density of Downtown Denver and it's many great Downtown Denver neighborhoods is growing.  That in turn is drawing more great events, great restaurants, and improving the transportation offerings.

Denver's got it going on.  SPIRE was recognized as one of the best selling condo projects in the country.  Riverfront Park won the ULI award for excellence.  Denver won an award for best transportation.  And some magazine is always calling us the fittest or hippest city.

It has also been amazing to learn from our many relocation clients how truly great our city is in comparison to many others.  Working with folks who are relocating to Denver gives us the opportunity to introduce them to all the great strengths our Downtown Denver lifestyle offers... and there are many.  From the attractive Downtown Denver cost of living to the many green parks and trails to our centrally located sporting arenas and theater districts Denver stands at the top of the city list.  It's why plenty of folks are looking to move here.

It's a positive spiral, which is a wonderful thing to experience and something our clients share praise for.  It's something pretty amazing when a client talks about how they love their Downtown Denver condo lifestyle more with each passing day (or year).  It's part of why we love what we do.

Downtown Denver Condo Owners, You Live in the Number One City for Transportation

It's wonderful to hear the many reasons our clients love living the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle!

There's the rapidly growing list of new restaurants and eateries (Have you heard about the new Linger Denver, the Ale House at Amatos', or the newly anticipated Occidental), the great selection of bistros and the many wine bars.

Downtown Denver condo residents also boast the three major sporting arenas all within walking or biking distance of their front door with Coor's Field, Invesco and the Pepsi Center calling the Downtown their home.

Then there are things no other city can duplicate like the 300+ days of sunshine paired with the great Rocky Mountains for a backyard.

And now we got one more reason to love Downtown Denver living... our transportation.

CBS news reported in their article "Denver Ranks #1 for Tranportation" just how great our growing transportation network is.  Based on  a report by U.S. News and World Report RTD's ridership was up 18%.  The article talks about how easy to use our system is and how it's use just keeps going up.

We believe it.  If we look at our Downtown Denver clients and the influx of people who are moving downtown to enjoy the Denver lifestyle we work with so many individuals who now live, work and play in the Downtown Denver area.   With gas prices going up, up and away at a record pace and forecasts for higher gas prices the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle enjoying bike, pedestrian and public transportation commuting is in high demand.

Even the local density of buildings is driving the RTD growth pattern.  SPIRE, with it's 42 floors of glass walled architecture and amenities will add close to 500 residential units to the heart of the Downtown Denver Theater district.  With SPIRE reporting more than half of those units sold and a location right next to the light rail station we have some idea where some of that new transit demand is coming from.

Cheers to Downtown Denver and the team at RTD for helping to improve and already amazing urban lifestyle.

Riverfront Park and Glass House, Downtown Denver's front row seat to the Fireworks!

Happy Fourth of July Weekend Denver!

If like most this is a time to catch the many Denver Firework Displays this holiday weekend it seemed like a great time to talk about the neighborhood that claims the best front row seat for the views of Fireworks over Coor's Field and Invesco... Riverfront Park.

I just finished watching the spectacular show over Coor's field from the Glass House as did many other Downtown Denver condo residents.  The Glass House 8th floor amenity level, with it's large swimming pool, fire pit and outdoor lounge space is the perfect location for relaxing and viewing the Downtown Denver skyline and the Denver Fourth of July show.  Residents gather around the outdoor grilling area swapping compliments on each others culinary creations.

The many happy homeowners in Denver's Glass House were more than willing to share comments on how much they love their neighborhood and their building.

And they have the perfect location for this fireworks filled weekend... and a strategy.  With friends throughout the building and a perfect location viewing Coor's field, Invesco, Elitch Gardens, and up into the Highlands the residents of this 23 story glass Downtown Denver condo tower enjoy 360 degrees of incredible views and all the surrounding light shows.

They just have to remember which way they want to view on any given night and find a spot (or a friend) with a condo facing that direction... or find a seat on the amenity level.

And perhaps the greatest enjoyment comes after the show as the trail of taillights snakes SLOWLY out of the Downtown Denver parking lots as residents avoid the headaches of traffic and congestion.  Instead they sit back and share laughter with friends and neighbors until retiring to their Downtown Denver condo retreats.

It's hard not to love the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle on these fun filled weekends.  It is one of the reason all of us at New Era Realty love helping our clients find their Downtown Denver dream homes.

To learn more about the Glass House, Riverfront Park, or any of the great Downtown Denver condo locations please contact anyone on the New Era Realty team.

Cheers and we wish you all a happy and safe holiday weekend!  Don't forget tomorrow night is the Invesco Field show after the Outlaws play.  Call your friends in Riverfront Park or Glass House for a Front Row seat.

Fireworks over Downtown Denver condo neighborhoods of Riverfront Park and LoHi

As we approach the biggest fireworks weekend for Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft residents we thought it might be nice to mention one new amenity this summer for residents of the Riverfront Park and LoHi neighborhood.

Elitch Gardens has been holding a nightly fireworks show visible from Riverfront Park and Lohi and most of Downtown Denver.  It's popular... a growing following has been building to watch these fireworks shows from within the green and grassy fields of Commons Park, from the great LoHi restaurants of Linger, LoLa, Vita and Zengo...and of course from the summer events our clients are enjoying from their Downtown Denver condo balconies.

We love to share the great experiences of our Downtown Denver condo residents as they enjoy their new urban lifestyle and we felt remiss to have missed this one.

Nighty, at roughly 9:00 PM Elitch Gardens throws a new treat to it's Denver audience with this vibrant light show of fireworks.  So next time you want to plan a relaxing evening out or a romantic date keep in mind that these fireworks light the Denver sky.  It's free and fun and just one more reason we find folks are moving to enjoy Downtown Denver.

And for those who live Downtown and are planning their Denver Fourth of July festivities it reminds us that living in walking distance from all that Downtown Denver offers is so much easier than a traffic and time consuming commute.

The LoHi area is offering so much to it's residents with great new openings of restaurants such as Ale House at Amatos, Linger, and we wait for the new Occidental in the spot of the previous Squeaky Bean that we don't know if any Downtown Denver neighborhood is showing as much excitement for our clients.  Riverfront Park, LoDo, and the main Highlands area are booming too but we have to highlight this year's enthusiasm we have for Denver's Lower Highlands.

Call us at New Era Realty to learn more about these exciting Downtown Denver neighborhoods.

The New Union Station to Enrich Downtown Denver Condo Living

It's an exciting time for Downtown Denver condo living!

Years ago we were talking about the new Riverfront Park area and the creation of a new master planned community that built more than 1,400 residential units and 62,000 square feet of retail space in what was once an abandoned brownfield on the riverfront.

That's right folks, one of Denver's hottest neighborhoods used to be the site of abandoned train yards and dirt fields.

Today it's the site of some of the most desired downtown Denver condo addresses such as the Park Place Lofts, Riverfront Tower, The Promenade Lofts, ONE Riverfront, The Park at ONE Riverfront, The Brownstones, Creekside Lofts and Creekside Flats, Flour Mill Lofts, and the Denver favorite... the Glass House.

Many don't realize the difference a decade can make. But if you look at what was this riverfront area of the Central Platte Valley used to look like and compare it to today's Riverfront Park and Commons Park Green Space area you can see why the project was awarded the 2011 ULI Award for Excellence.

It's also one of the contributing factors to the great growth of LoHi and the surrounding areas.

Now sit back and get ready to preview the next dirt to beauty transformation.

All of us at New Era Realty have been enthusiastically watching the dirt movers and construction teams breaking ground on the new Union Station Neighborhood Development project that will connect LoDo and Riverfront Park in addition to creating a new transit center for Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft residents. This new Downtown Denver neighborhood is planned to offer an incredible new location for restaurants, shops, amenities and of course Downtown Denver condominium living.

With the hub of the light rail and an extension line out to DIA Denver Union Station will have the energy of people flowing through it's streets and pedestrian walkways. So the Designers and Architects have designed something super amazing and they have put the 3-D rendered movies online at their website for all of us to experience here.

It's an amazing project for Denver and just one more reason why Downtown Denver condo living in the surrounding neighborhoods (Riverfront Park, LoDo, LoHi, Highlands, Ball Park) just got even more exciting. Imaging being just footsteps from all these great new amenities, dining, and transportation opportunities. There was even a story in the Wall Street Journal about how Rail Stations Drive Demand.

A LoHi update on Bike to Work Day... about Squeaky Beans and Occidentals

It's Bike to Work Day and today most of Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft residents are enjoying the simple convenience of a two wheeled commute.

Our office is located in the Lower Highlands condo and home neighborhood where two wheeled transportation is common and great restaurants are plentiful. The LoHi neighborhood sits at the start of the pedestrian bridge connection into Riverfront Park and the junction of the many Denver bike and running trails.

Living in LoHi just makes car optional living easy.

But today's update isn't just about Bike to work day. We already shared the new opening of Linger in LoHi and the new Ale House at Amato's in LoHI.

Today we have some mixed news that was reported in the Denver Post. The great LoHi neighborhood restaurant The Squeaky Bean has closed it's doors on Tejon. This downtown Denver restaurant favorite won over the hearts of our neighbors and friends in the Lower Highlands (and all of Downtown Denver).

But not to worry.. there is a silver lining. The Squeaky Bean isn't done.... it's just looking for new home. And it seems that most every neighborhood is rising to make a welcome pitch that they choose their neighborhood for the new downtown Denver home. And with our LoHi office in place we wouldn't mind at all if they found a new cozy spot here in LoHi near their loving customer base.

In fact we'd love to help with their new home search. All of us at New Era Realty love and know the Lower Highlands... and we have a few ideas.

But where ever the new Squeaky Bean lands we wish them well and can't wait to see the new venue.

One other silver lining... the great mixology experts from the Squeaky Bean will be opening up the Occidental.. a cocktail lounge offering great treats such as oysters, charcuterie, vegetarian dishes and pâtés. For those who didn't know.. the Bean was famous for it's cocktails.

LoHi just continues to develop and grow.. including some amazing Real Estate offerings from new modern townhomes to historic Denver Square homes and everything in between.

Bike to Work Day this Wednesday June 22nd for Downtown Denver Condo Residents

Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft residents it's time to tune up those bikes, make sure your tires aren't flat, and grab your helmet because this Wednesday is "Bike to Work Day".

Let's face it... there aren't too many cities that are more bike friendly that our great Downtown Denver neighborhoods. New buildings such as SPIRE are emphasizing their access to light rail and supporting Bcycle stations throughout the theater district. Riverfront Park made sure to get a prime Bcycle station right at the entrance to Commons Park. And of course LoHi made sure to have a few right around all their great restaurants like Lola, Vita, the new Ale House at Amatos and the very very new Linger Restaurant.

And that is just a few of the great Bcycle locations. Not sure if one is close to you... here is a link to download the map to show you all the Bcycle Denver locations for all our Downtown Denver condo clients.

Biking, walking and using public transportation to get to work is just one of the many reasons our clients love their Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft lifestyle... but it is a reason that we are hearing more and more often every year. Downtown Denver living is great but biking to work is more than just a convenience benefit.. it offers so much more.

Our Downtown Denver condo clients cite the HOURS that they reclaim in their lives by not sitting in traffic to and from work. They have shared with us the pounds lost and the skinny jeans earned by biking to and from work or to dinner. And most recently they have shared how they are saving a significant amount of money from not filling up their gas tanks.

We just though the hundreds of great restaurants, shops, sporting events, theater events, and activities were reason enough to enjoy the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle.. now we are being told it's also extremely healthy and cost saving.

Ok.. we admit we knew that too.

To learn more about the great Downtown Denver lifestyle please contact any of us at New Era Realty and to learn more about Bike to Work Day Denver and the many stations serving up breakfast and coffee visit here.

14th Street Initiative Downtown Denver Podcast Update

We all have been hearing about he great improvements to the Downtown Denver 14th Street Corridor... which is to become the new Downtown Denver Ambassador Street. Those of us who live in the Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft neighborhood of the theater district have surely seen (and perhaps cursed) the ongoing construction efforts along this corridor. Don't worry, the construction is worth it!

The new 14th Street initiative is intended to make a great new pedestrian and traffic corridor with outdoor seating, public artwork, and expanded sidewalks to allow for pedestrian seating at all your favorite bistro's, bars, and restaurants.

So many folks have heard about the 14th Street Initiative but few know the exact details so we wanted to share this great podcast from Ken Schroeppel, creator of DenverUrbanism.com, Kim Douglas, urban designer from Studio INSITE, Kate Haher, Pedestrian Manager at the Downtown Denver Partnership, and Chris Crosby with the Nichols Partnership, developer of the Spire condo tower at 14th and Champa.

The plan for the new 14th street is for this area to become the major gateway for our great city. When visitors come to visit Downtown Denver, when folks travel the connection between the Conference Center and Civic Center park, and for those of us who love in the Downtown Denver condo neighborhood this street is intended to be focused on more pedestrian and bicycle transit oriented. The lanes went from 3 to 2 to increase the sidewalk space for the outdoor cafe's and to facilitate a new bicycle lane.

Then the landscape architects incorporated new planter areas and elevated planter curbs, seating for pedestrians, bicycle storage, designed signage and a focus on beautiful monuments and lighting.

The folks at SPIRE, the Four Seasons Denver, and the many other Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft buildings are loving the vision for this great neighborhood. It encourages restaurants to move in and take advantage of the outdoor seating opportunity and the foot traffic and even greater amenities to complement the great theater performances and events.

All of us at New Era Realty just wanted to say Thank You for all the folks who contributed to this incredible Downtown Denver neighborhood project.

The Downtown Denver Theater District first visit for Tony winner Book of Mormon

Last night the city of New York celebrated their Downtown Theater District in recognizing the many amazing plays on Broadway this year.

And guess what... the winner for the best Musical were a couple of folks from Colorado you all probably know for their creation of the animated series "South Park".    That's right, Trey Stone and Matt Stone's creation "The Book of Mormon" scooped the Tony awards taking home 9 total awards.

How does this tie into Denver?  Well Matt and Trey are doing a tribute to their home state by scheduling the first road show location for the Book of Mormon to be in their home state with a show in the Downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver Loft neighborhood known to us as the Denver Theater District.  But you are going to have to wait... the show isn't scheduled to entertain Downtown Denver condo residents until 2012 when it makes it's FIRST national tour debut at the Buell Theater.

What is interesting is that this year Broadway has set some new records in tickets sales in what folks have been calling a Broadway recovery.  One by one these broadway hits are heading to Downtown Denver where residents in such great downtown Denver condo and Downtown Denver loft buildings as SPIRE, the Four Seasons, ONE Lincoln or any of the historic lodo lofts can enjoy walking to see a show.

Many Downtown Denver residents forget how extensive the Denver theater district is the SECOND largest performing arts center in the world, second only to NYC and the largest in the Western Hemisphere.   And now the hottest show in the country is coming to Denver before such major theater cities as Chicago or Los Angeles.   A major benefit of the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle residents in not only the lodo and Downtown areas but also in Rivefront Park, Highlands, LoHi, Ball Park, Capitol Hill and more can enjoy even the shortest bike ride or pubic transportation trip to get to these great shows heading to Denver.

We have to say... the SPIRE residents have the best seat in the house for walking just outside their front door to see shows any time of the year.  But that's just one of the many benefits to living the Downtown Denver condo lifestyle.

To learn more about the great Downtown Denver condo or Downtown Denver loft lifestyle contact any of us at New Era Realty and we hope to see you at the local premier from our Colorado creators in 2012.
