We have been talking a great deal about all the great new high rise buildings for lofts and condos throughout downtown Denver and the surrounding areas. Today we want to talk about one of our favorite neighborhoods which is the Lower Highlands (you may know it as LoHi).
The LoHi area has been a favorite among buyers for quite some time with it's walkable streets and pocket parks. We work with many buyers and this neighborhood has an appeal for everyone. There are older turn of the century homes that have been restored to their breathtaking original shine for those who want to maintain the historical look and feel. There are many homes which have been completely updated with modern finishes mixed with the old style architecture. There are brand new low and mid rise modern lofts, town homes, and condos featuring some of the best work of Denver's designers. And of course, for our do it yourself clients there are still many many properties that are priced for a new homeowner to acquire and then go any direction in terms of style in doing their own updating.
LoHi has character. This combination of different styles, periods of architecture and design, and recent influx of improvements has created a neighborhood where a walking tour is a treat. This, in turn, has attracted many new residents and.... we hope you already know this from experience... many many new and wonderful restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops and more. Many would claim that for those wanting to be surrounded by walkable treats for the palate LoHi is counted in a top selection. With Lola, Vita, Z-Cuisine, the new LoHi Steak Bar, Taqueria Patzcuaro, Duo, Rosa Linda Mexican Cafe, Gallop Cafe in the heart of LoHi and Sushi Sasa, the new Ernies, everything around 32nd and Lowell and the entire CPV so close it is fair to say this gem of a neighborhood can back up that top selection claim.
One of our favorite amenities in any downtown neighborhood has always been the restaurants and gathering places that create community. Sharing a glass of wine, a cup of coffee, or a delicious meal with friends, family and neighbors is one of the simplest and most enjoyable moments in a day (or in life). Selecting a home that enables our buyers to enjoy this lifestyle is part of how we assist our clients. And this neighborhood is just one of the many in Denver that makes our job easier.
