It is almost March but it feels like winter has just arrived in the Mile High City. Listening to the radio this morning, it appears we are having one of the snowiest Februarys to date and for the last week of the month, we can prepare for even more snow. So what can you and the family do when you don’t want to be stuck in the house? Where can you go in the city to get out and enjoy the cold without being too cold?
Did Someone Say Free?
There are many wonderful museums in Denver and what’s even better, every one of them has a free day every month. When the kids are tired of staying indoors watching re-runs, head over to the Nature and Science Museum or the Children’s Museum. Expand their minds and imaginations while you
enjoy spending time with your family. Below are a few upcoming free days at the museums:
Nature & Science Museum: March 2
Denver Art Museum: March 7
Railroad Museum: March 7
Doll & Toy Museum: March 8
Children’s Museum of Denver: Every Tuesday night from 4:00 – 8:00pm
Staying Warm in the Winter Months - Couples Night Out
After a lovely day with the kids, maybe it is time for you and your partner to head out on the town just the two of you. The great thing about Denver is there is always something to do whether it is a weekend or weekday. From music to food, movies to theatre, you are sure to find an activity to enjoy. Here are a few suggestions for things to do and a few upcoming events to mark your calendars for:
See a Movie – There are plenty of great movies out there, but how about heading to Landmark Theatre in the Capitol Hill neighborhood to catch the now Oscar winning movie ‘Birdman’ starring Michael Keaton?
Catch a Show – So many music shows to choose from and so little time! But we thought a good one to try would be Ziggies Blues Jam every Sunday to start, and it is free! Make sure you have your dancing shoes for this outing!
Friday Night Bazaar – Starting March 6th and running through September, The Big Wonderful is now putting on a lovely event called Friday Night Bazaar. Located in the heart of the RINO Art District, this is a fun place to have a drink, eat some food, and meander around local vendor’s booths to see what wonderful products they have for sale.
Enjoying That White Stuff
So many fun activities to do in Denver but let’s not forget to enjoy the snow while it is here. Whether you and your kids build a snowman in your yard, you go up to the mountains with your partner to ski, or you head to a large hill for some old school sledding with friends, get out there and appreciate the lovely winter that we have here in Colorado.
